Ranger Elite of Choice For RA
OK...the question is: Which elite do you prefer for RA and why, between [Melandru's Shot] [Broad Head Arrow] or [Burning Arrow]. Just for the record, I've used all three and still can't make up my mind which I prefer.

switch out [Broad Head Arrow] for [Magebane Shot] and you got my main three.
Broad Head just limits your positioning and is [Foul Feast] fodder, therefore it ain't worth it in my opinion.

[Echo] + [Distracting Shot] for the lulz.
On topic:
[Magebane Shot][Distracting Shot][Savage Shot] etc. if you're going for ints.
Remember that this is RA, so [Troll Unguent] and [Natural Stride] are highly recommended, as well as [Antidote Signet] or [Mending Touch]

[magebane shot] is your best choice atm.
I only wish it would do +damage, but then it would be OP. It's already good as it is.
When I do run MB shot, I use [Holy Veil] just because of all the ridiculous Hexers these days. Besides you're going to have the best LOL watching noobs trying to hex you while you interrupt the sh*t out of them.

Seeing as how Savage and Dshot are sufficient to for most interrupting duties, I prefer Burning Arrow, by a wide margin. RA matches are wet and wild and stuff needs to die immediately. Burning Arrow fulfills that need.

[enraged lunge] - imbapet
R/P ftw in most cases when I'm in RA -- I've tried a million different ranger builds and I always come back to this one. Playing a ranger in a classic/utility/damage support role is broken in RA because 90% of the time you have an uncoordinated team running unknown bars and playing for themselves...Just lock the pet on the highest priority and spam [insert spear attack of choice - I prefer [barbed spear]] to spread some condition/damage whilst tabbing about your enemy team, making sure all pet attacks are constantly in use so [enraged lunge] is doing an extra +80 every 5 seconds...with a constant IMS+damage buff on your pet with [feral aggression] and IAS/defense with [lightning reflexes] and a constant IMS with [run as one], you can keep everyone bleeding and pressuring the healer...

ill agree that magebane is very good, although i tend to run melshot in ra the most. the unblockable interrupt of magebane is nice, although the positioning of melshot is why i like it. i play mels for gvg and i go to ra to mess around with my bar. the cripple on a training warrior is highly valuable and it gives you a little more damage also.
as for the guardian/wep of warding blocking, for 1, you have d shot and sav shot, so it shouldnt get off to start with, and 2, if it does wait till its recharged and just before that, make sure you land poison on the monk/rit so he knows youre watching him. then if he cancels to keep you from inting it or has to cast it on himself so you dont int woh, then youre doing your job and keeping the rest of the team free for damage, and when he tries to get it off, d shot it and dont worry.
burning arrow is big damage, but lacks utility. the ranger is all about utility and survivablity/durability, and thats why i think mel shot is the best choice.
the magebane with holy veil is quite fun and makes inting easy, but also then youre sacrificing a skill slot to make sure you can int things you should be able to int anyway. also with magebane, its only got a 10 sec disable and is more spamable than d shot, so be careful not to magebane things you should be d shotting.
ranger bars consist of rez, apply, nat stride, m touch, d shot, sav shot, [elite], troll, so if you go mels, you have damage+snare which reduces pressure on your team, if you go burning you kill 'faster' but lack utility, and with magebane, you replace sav, but then that last spot goes to veil/pin down.

Doesn't matter. If you're good with a ranger, the elite is just gravy.

Magebane is imbalanced in RA so I recommend it. It does what it says on the tin, in that it beats the hell outta any spells that are spammy and /or 1s cast or more such as Mind Blast, Guardian, Attunements and VoR mesmers' bars.
Magebane and Dshot are geat for keeping players from Res Signets despite Magebane not even disabling it. The 5 sec recharge is very harrassing and threatening and forces resurrecters run for cover.

Magebane is by far the best choice for doing what rangers do best in arenas. Some other elites do get overlooked though.
Cripshot: Still solid as a cripple that always goes though
Escape: You can still be effective running this for self defense (sometimes do your job better too).
Poison Arrow + Barbed Arrows: Effective, cheap
Prepared Shot + Concussion Shot
